‘Daddy, those are the cats I would like to play with’, zei Louis Armstrong toen hij een geluidsopname hoorde van de Dutch Swing College Band. Het jazzorkest is dan ook al ruim 65 jaar een van’s werelds beste op het gebied van dixieland en New Orleans jazz. Geen kopieën van opnamen van oude Amerikaanse meesters, maar eigen arrangementen en composities. In dit sfeervolle kerstprogramma blazen de heren met swingende, traditionele jazzinterpretaties klassiekers als Jingle Bells, Let It Snow, Winter Wonderland en Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer nieuw leven in. Met Lils Mackintosh staat er bovendien een van de beste jazzzangeressen van Nederland op het podium.

‘Daddy, those are the cats I would like to play with’, Louis Armstrong said when he heard a recording of the Dutch Swing College Band. Meanwhile, for the last 65 years or so, the jazz orchestra has been one of the world’s best in the field of Dixieland and New Orleans jazz. Not just playing covers of recordings of old American masters but bringing their own arrangements and compositions as well. In this Christmas show full of yuletide cheer the band will be breathing new life into swinging, traditional jazz interpretations of classic numbers like Jingle Bells, Let It Snow, Winter Wonderland and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. And on vocals there will be none other than Lils Mackintosh one of the Netherlands' best jazz singers.
